The cultural and educational paths proposed by the MAEC, in cooperation with Aion, Itinera and CoopCulture, represent an opportunity for schools to deepen the historical, artistic and archaeological knowledge of the territory. The aim is to promote the culture of the territory among young people, to make the Museum a meeting point and a place of cultural exchange. In addition to the educational activities for schools, there are many activities implemented during after-school times (Christmas, Easter, summer) or specifically made for events and temporary exhibition.
Educational tours present the entire Museum collections following the chronological order. Tours are always carried out by expert archeologists and art historians, specifically trained for museum education. It is also possible to visit the Archaeological Park, both alone or combined with the MAEC.
The aim of our educational workshops is to introduce students the Museum collection in a scientifically correct and captivating way. All the workshops include the guided tour to the specific artworks.
Leisure time activities
These activities are made for children’s leisure time (Christmas or Easter holidays, summer) and special occasions during the year. Some of them are now regular events, like our Campus, Archeojunior; others are related to events and exhibitions organised by the Museum and also promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture (European Heritage Days), by the Regione Toscana (Amico Museo, the Nights of Archaeology) and involve a much wider audience.
